Lebron James Faces His Haters Over Twitter, and Not Face To Face Like an Adult

Nicholas GossJan 12, 2011

LeBron James furthered showed the world he has the mental toughness of a school child, and will never be able to handle life as the face of the NBA.

James used his twitter account Tuesday to address all the "haters" that he is supposedly keeping track of, telling them that "Crazy. Karma is a b——... Gets you every time. Its not good to wish bad on anybody. God sees everything!"

This was directed at Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert, whose famous public letter ripping LeBron James as a human being and a basketball player earned major attention in the media.

The tweet is thought to be related to the Los Angeles Lakers' beatdown of the Cavaliers 112-57 Tuesday night, a defeat James enjoyed.

James' Twitter account got many response over his tweet, and many of them were negative.

For James, it is time to put Twitter away. I realize it is a cool way of interacting with the fans, and you can share your feelings quickly with many people "re-tweeting" your tweets.

But if you have beef with people, why not tell them to their face, in person? LeBron has yet to grow up, and the lack of mental strength he has is alarming.

Thank God he has Dwyane Wade to keep the Heat calm in the playoffs, at least Wade is able to keep his personal issues out of the media's attention.

James loves the attention of the media so much, ESPN in particular, that he doesn't even realize when he's done something awful, destroying his image even more.

Before the infamous "The Decision" special in July when he announced he'd be leaving Cleveland and taking his "talents to South Beach," James reputation was great.

People of all ages admired James, he was a likable superstar, who stayed away from controversy. The complete turnaround in his image can be partly blamed to whoever is handling his public relations.

Those people need to be fired immediately, unless he is dissing his haters himself. Some athletes have their Twitter and Facebook accounts monitored and ran by PR people, but some handle these social media websites themselves.

If James has an issue with someone, you'd think he'd call them, or meet them in person. Unfortunately, he isn't man enough to do that.

When Michael Jordan was being criticized for not being able to beat the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons, he did not address his haters through the media.

He shut them up on the court, by winning six NBA championships.

The only way James will silence his critics will be to win multiple championships, and now that he is playing alongside multiple superstars, winning titles will not be a great accomplishment anyway.

LeBron James is now public enemy number one in 29 of 30 NBA cities, and the pressure on the Heat is so immense right now, and it will be far greater come playoff time.

James needs to end these Twitter feuds, because it makes him look childish, and foolish. Every time I think James cannot do anything further to kill his image, he finds something new.

Each time he does, I am less and less surprised.
