LeBron James Tweet: 10 Reasons King James Keeps Hating On Cleveland

Sean MerrimanJun 1, 2018

LeBron James' decision to leave Cleveland and take his talents to Miami certainly left a bitter taste with Cavaliers fans. Now, after a slow start, LeBron is thriving in Miami with the new Big- 3, and the Cavs are struggling with an 8-30 record, which is tied for the worst in the NBA.

Cleveland fans let LeBron know just how disgusted they were when he left. They have taken shots at him ever since his departure, and LeBron has fired back. But Tuesday might have topped them all.

During the Cavs blowout loss to the Lakers on Tuesday night, James apparently used Twitter to send out a message to those very Cavs fans.

"Crazy. Karma is a b****. Gets you every time. It's not good to wish bad on anybody. God sees everything!" James wrote from his Twitter account. The Cavs went on to lose 112-57, the lowest amount of points the Cavs have scored in the shot clock era. It was the teams 11th consecutive loss.

My guess is that this war is far from over, and James seems to be relishing this villain role that he has taken on as of late.

Here is a look at 10 reasons why King James can't let go of his feud with Cleveland.

10. It's Not Akron, It's Cleveland

Although Akron and Cleveland are only about 30 minutes from each other in distance, many people will say that LeBron grew up in Cleveland. That's not true, he grew up in Akron.

"They were the bigger-city kids when we were growing up, looked down on us.… So we didn't actually like Cleveland. We hated Cleveland growing up. There's a lot of people in Cleveland we still hate to this day," said James in an interview with the LA Times earlier this summer.

As a kid, he did not have a good image of Cleveland, and then once he left the city, he was reminded why he had so much hate for it to begin with.

9. They Accused Him Of Quitting

Dan Gilbert might have started it, but after the 2010 NBA playoffs concluded, fans all over Cleveland accused LeBron of quitting in the playoffs and not giving his best effort in the Cavs series loss to Boston.

Look, this guy made it clear he wanted to win championships. He asked the team to surround him with talent so he could get that done. LeBron James did not just decide to stop playing basketball when he is in a six-game series with the Boston Celtics, with a conference finals appearance on the line.

The fact that his own owner and fans accused him of quitting, would make any athlete hate on that city and that team.

8. What Can They Do About It?

What does Cleveland have to their credit that they can use to back themselves up at this point?

The Cavs currently sit at 8-30, which is the worst record in the NBA. They have lost 11 straight games, which is by far the longest losing streak of any team in the league. They are plauged with injuries, and even before those injuries, they weren't a good basketball team to begin with.

Cleveland is the bottom-dweller of the NBA right now, and LeBron James can continue to feud with them all he wants, because in reality, what are they really going to do about it?

7. He Dosen't Like To Lose

LeBron James is a competitor both on the basketball court and off. He simply doesn't like to lose.

If the Cavaliers brass are going to come out and say some snotty comment about him, he is going to fire right back and make sure that he tops them. That is the mindset of a true competitor. It's that "whatever you can do, I can do better" theme that he possesses about himself.

James started the war when he made the decision to leave. Cleveland decided to take it to a whole new level with remarks and insults that has stuck in James' mind, and he will not let them go until he wins for good.

6. Cleveland Is Just Not Any Good

BOSTON - MAY 13: Mo Williams #2 of the Cleveland Cavaliers reacts after he is called for a foul in the fourth quarter against the Boston Celtics during Game Six of the Eastern Conference Semifinals of the 2010 NBA playoffs at TD Garden on May 13, 2010 in

As previously mentioned, the Cavs are currently the worst team in the NBA.

But what that shows, is just how much LeBron really did mean to the success of this organization. He made it clear that he wanted Danny Ferry to surround him with talent, and Ferry said that he did so.

Well, here is the group that you surrounded James with, and without him, they currently sport an 8-30 record and have lost 11 straight games. This is the so called "best talent" that Ferry was able to surround him with?

5. The Role Of The Villain

6 of 10

Cleveland hates LeBron James the most, there's no question there. But they are not alone by any means.

After LeBron made the decision to announce "The Decision" over an hour long national broadcast interview, a lot of NBA fans began to not think so highly of the King. Not only did his decision to play for Miami upset them, but also the way he went about doing it.

Since then, LeBron has taken on somewhat of a villain role throughout the NBA.  Like he is the bad guy, and everyone is out to get him now. But, LeBron seems to be content with that villain role. In fact, it's almost as if he likes it and encourages it now days.

4. The Fans

LeBron James took a struggling NBA franchise back to relevance during his time in Cleveland. He led his team to the best record in the NBA. And yet because he left Cleveland to go to a better situation, where he had a better chance to win, Cleveland fans still hate him.

They will never forgive a superstar for leaving a bad team, who never gave him enough pieces to win an NBA championship.

The move is not to blame LeBron, but to blame general manager Danny Ferry for not surrounding James with better talent. Did he really believe that Antwan Jamison was going to be the difference maker that would lift the Cavs to a victory over  Kobe and the Lakers?

These fans treated James like crap at times even before he left, accusing him of quitting against Boston in the playoffs. Well, here is one of the top reasons why he has every right to keep hating on Cleveland. How are your NBA title chances looking now?

3. Burning Images

8 of 10

Remember when LeBron James had announced his decision to "take his talents to South Beach", and moments later, the cameras flashed to an image of Cavs fans burning their LeBron James jersey to the ground.

That was one of the most upsetting, disrespectful images in all of sports. The fact that they showed James that right then and there, had to leave a lasting image in his head. That was one of his final images of what Cleveland fans were like and now, he is handing it right back at them.

James said that he was taking notes of everyone that disrespected him after he left Clevelend. Well, there is the ultimate sign of disrespect, and you can bet that James certainly took note of that one.

2. He Can Back It Up In a Big Way

After 39 games, the Miami Heat sport a 30-9 record, which is the second best record in the NBA behind the San Antonio Spurs. LeBron and the Heat have won 21 of their last 22 games and are close to breaking the NBA record for consecutive road wins.

The new Big-3  of James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh look like an unstoppable force, that are starting to click together on all the right cylinders.

LeBron James can continue to hate on Cleveland all he wants, because he can back it up in every possible way. With every game the Heat win and every game the Cavs lose, his decision is looking more and more like a good one.

1. Dan Gilbert

This guy is hands-down the top reason that LeBron James has every right to keep hating on Cleveland.

After James signed with the Heat this past summer, Gilbert wrote a letter, calling out James and his character. In a series of interviews since, Gilbert has said that James quit during the playoffs in each of the past two seasons.

But James has fired right back.  In an interview with GQ over the summer, James said, "I don't think he ever cared about LeBron. My mother always told me: 'You will see the light of people when they hit adversity. You'll get a good sense of their character.' Me and my family have seen the character of that man."

Now Gilbert's team is the laughing stock of the NBA, and LeBron's new look Miami Heat team are the hottest ticket in the league. Gilbert also said in his letter that Cleveland would win an NBA Championship before King James ever did. I would say it's fair to say that Mr. Gilbert might have been a little off with that comment right there.
