New LeBron James Nike Shoes: How Does It Stack Up Against the Latest New Kicks?

Allen KimJun 5, 2018

LeBron James' new Nike shoes, the LeBron 8 V/2, is set to release tomorrow.

Using the Heat's red, white and black home colorway, this is a welcome new addition to LeBron's list of signature kicks.

However, there have been a number of strong releases since the start of the 2010-11 NBA season.

How do his new kicks stack up against some of the more recent releases?

10. Air Jordan CP3.IV

1 of 10

“I’ve been through so much physically in the past year that I wanted my shoe to reflect what I thought was most important to me—it’s all about performance,” says Paul. “In the end, all that matters is how well you perform, and I wanted my new shoe to deliver.”

It has a clean look, it's lightweight and it has enough support.

These may not be flashy, but they still look good.

9. Under Armour Micro G Black Ice Halloween Edition

2 of 10

Since they're created by Under Armour, the Micro G Black Ice do not get a lot of hype, but they're very solid kicks.

These special Halloween editions look great in the black and orange.

8. Nike Zoom Kobe VI

Kobe Bryant's new Nike shoes, the Nike Zoom Kobe IV, were recently released.

He wanted a shoe that was low and light, and he got his wish with his new signature kicks.

The snake skin-like design is a nice touch.

It has sleek design and nice subtle touches throughout. One of the better LeBron kicks.

6. Nike Air Force 1 Foamposite

5 of 10

Combines the classic Nike Air Force 1 with foamposite material, an amazing tandem.

It could do without the clear soles, though.

5. Nike Air Jordan 1 Armour

6 of 10

Nike/Jordan Brand love churning out the re-releases and they hit a home run here.

Using an injected molded foamposite shell, these are a beautiful take on the original Air Jordan's that started it all.

4. Nike Zoom Kobe V 'Ring Ceremony'

7 of 10

In honor of his back-to-back titles, Nike released these special edition Nike Zoom Kobe Vs. It was fitting that he got his fifth ring wearing his fifth Nike signature kicks.

Kobe Bryant wore these during the ring ceremony from last year's championship victory.

3. Nike Air Penny 1/2 Cent

8 of 10

The Air Penny 1/2 Cent combines facets from a number of old Penny shoes. The combination delivered a fantastic addition to the Air Penny family.

Li'l Penny approved.

2. Doernbecher Freestyle X Air Jordan III Retro

9 of 10

Nike/Jordan Brand and the Doernbecher Children's Hospital have made a tradition out of teaming up to create special kicks designed by one of the patients.

This one is a must have. Beautiful color combination, fantastic design and just an overall great looking pair.

10 of 10

The Air Jordan XI is widely considered to be not only one of the best Jordan's ever released, but best kicks of all time.

This recent retro release, dubbed "Cool Grey," dropped in stores on December 23, 2010. It quickly sold out and it's easy to see why.
