We're a long way from the 2011 NBA Draft, but doesn't that mean it's the perfect time to start looking at which college stars to keep an eye on during the season?
College basketball is flooded with young talent each and every year, as it seems that the incoming freshman classes just get better and better. This year is no different.
In fact, it's possible that the top five picks in the next draft could all be freshmen.
That said, there is still plenty of non-freshman talent.
So if you're interested in watching college basketball and evaluating NBA talent, read on for the 20 stars you should tune it to throughout the season.
(Notes: All stats are through January 4, 2011 and some of the videos contain songs with explicit lyrics.)
Perry Jones
1 of 20The freshman from Baylor is currently the consensus No. 1 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.
He's a small forward, but is 6'11" and can do everything.
Jones is averaging 11.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.9 blocks per game. Like I said, he can do it all.
Terrence Jones
2 of 20The freshman from Kentucky is doing his best to replace the ridiculous amount of talent that departed from Lexington at the end of last season.
Terrence Jones is a 6'8" small forward with great versatility.
He's averaging 17.1 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.9 blocks per game.
Jared Sullinger
3 of 20The freshman power forward for Ohio State has been the best player in the country so far according to basketball statistician Ken Pomeroy.
His size is unbelievable and he's a double-double threat on every single night that he plays.
Sullinger is averaging 17.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.5 blocks per game this season.
Harrison Barnes
4 of 20Harrison Barnes was supposed to be the best player in the country this year, but he's failed to live up to the lofty expectations. So far.
The freshman small forward for North Carolina is a ridiculous athlete just overflowing with potential.
He's averaging 11.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.4 blocks per game.
Derrick Williams
5 of 20The sophomore power forward from Arizona is one of those players that should be more well-known than he actually is.
Derrick Williams has great fundamentals, which help make up for his lack of size at his position.
Williams has averaged 18.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.8 blocks per game.
Brandon Knight
6 of 20Kentucky's freshman combo guard gives the Wildcats a second entry on this list. Basically, go watch them when you get a chance.
Knight plays suffocating defense and is as quick as anyone he faces. He needs to improve his jumping and passing though.
The freshman is averaging 18.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.4 blocks this season.
Trey Thompkins
7 of 20The junior power forward for Georgia is still recovering from a preseason high ankle sprain, yet he's been absolutely dominant when he's played.
He lacks elite athleticism, but Thompkins can literally do everything. He breaks presses, shoots threes, blocks shots and more.
Thompkins is averaging 17.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.5 blocks this season in limited action.
Kyle Singler
8 of 20The Duke senior is hoping to lead his team to an undefeated season from the small forward position.
He's definitely a "tweener," but his intangibles and his versatility make him invaluable to his team.
Singler is averaging 17.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.3 blocks per game.
Demetri McCamey
9 of 20The senior point guard from Illinois has improved in each of his four seasons. He's now projected as being drafted in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
His combined points plus assists have gone from 11.5 to 16.1 to 22.2 to the current 23.6.
McCamey is averaging 16.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.3 blocks per game.
Travis Leslie
10 of 20If you look up "explosive" in the dictionary, you will see Travis Leslie's picture.
The small forward had the dunk of the year in 2009. He has provided highlight after highlight this year as well.
Leslie is averaging 13.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.8 blocks this season.
Cory Joseph
11 of 20Cory Joseph is Texas' freshman point guard, and he is without a doubt a player worth watching.
Joseph has one of the best pure shots in college basketball to complement his brilliant all-around game.
The point guard has averaged 11.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.4 blocks so far in the 2010-2011 season.
E'Twaun Moore
12 of 20The senior Boilermaker is having a fantastic season, the best of his four-year career at Purdue.
Moore has always been a great player, but this season he's shooting up draft boards thanks to his improvement in virtually every single statistical category.
This year, Moore is averaging 20.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.5 blocks.
Kemba Walker
13 of 20Kemba Walker has been the catalyst for the surprising Connecticut Huskies this year.
In the process, he's become the best pure scorer in the entire country. The junior point guard is lighting it up every time he steps onto the court.
Walker has averaged 26.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.3 steals and 0.3 blocks per game thus far.
Josh Selby
14 of 20The Kansas freshman was an immediate sensation when he hit the game-clinching three-pointer in a 21-point debut.
The guard has averaged 14.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and a block per game in his still-young season.
Marcus Morris
15 of 20From one Kansas player to another. Marcus Morris provides the experience and leadership on this team.
The junior forward is both a great scorer and a great rebounder for his size.
Morris is averaging 15.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.7 blocks this season.
Jimmer Fredette
16 of 20How can you not like a guy named Jimmer?
The senior guard is a prolific scorer and has improved in each of his four seasons. He gained national recognition with his March Madness performance last year and has taken advantage of the spotlight in the early portion of the 2010-2011 season.
Fredette is averaging 24.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.1 blocks so far.
Jon Leuer
17 of 20I guess I just like watching big men that can shoot. Despite playing power forward and standing 6'10", Leuer can shoot from anywhere on the court.
The senior for Wisconsin is just fun to watch and has improved every year.
Leuer is averaging 19.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.6 blocks this year.
JaJuan Johnson
18 of 20The second Purdue player on this list needs to be a national player of the year candidate.
JaJuan Johnson, the senior Boilermaker, knows how to fill up a scoresheet and has admirably helped his team fill in for Robbie Hummel's missing production.
Johnson is averaging 19.9 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.2 blocks so far this season.
Nolan Smith
19 of 20A senior for Duke, Nolan Smith has really stepped up his game this year to replace the gaping void left by Kyrie Irving and his mysterious toe.
Smith has elevated his game tremendously this year and is another player who has proven to be quite adept at filling up stat sheets, but this time from the guard position.
He's averaging 18.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.1 blocks in Duke's quest for perfection.
Kalin Lucas
20 of 20Kalin Lucas is having a bit of a difficult season, at least according to his own lofty standards. The senior guard is still the unquestioned leader of the Michigan State Spartans.
He's not extremely quick, but he's a great creator and shooter.
Lucas is averaging 14.4 points, 2.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.3 steals in his return from an Achilles injury.
