NBA Fantasy Basketball Box Score Breakouts: January 2nd
Here’s a look at some fantasy basketball players that blew up the box score last night.
Glen Davis, Boston Celtics
Big Baby scored 15 points (6-14 FG, 3-4 FT) with 11 rebounds, eight assists and two steals. He’s been solid all along, but gets a slight uptick with KG out.
Joey Dorsey & Amir Johnson, Toronto Raptors
Dorsey scored 13 points (5-9 FG, 3-8 FT) with 13 rebounds, two assists and two steals. He’s averaging 10.8 rebounds in his past four games and is a decent short-term option while Andrea Bargnani is out. Johnson scored 10 points (5-11 FG) with 10 rebounds for his second straight double-double. He added two assists and a block.
Shawn Marion & DeShawn Stevenson, Dallas Mavericks
Marion scored 22 points (11-16 FG), with five rebounds and an assist. He’s a good pickup with Caron Butler sidelined. Stevenson added 21 points (6-13 FG, 4-5 FT, 5-12 3PM) with three rebounds, four assists and a block. The Mavs are short-handed so he could have a nice boost while they get back to health.
Ramon Sessions, Cleveland Cavaliers
Sessions socred 19 points (9-13 FG, 1-2 FT) with seven rebounds and 12 assists. He’s averaging 16.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 6.3 assists. He’ll likely slow his pace since he’s not playing me this week. In all seriousness, he’ll remain a solid play with Daniel Gibson out.
Nicolas Batum, Portland Trail Blazers
Batum scored 21 points (8-12 FG, 3-3 FT, 2-5 3PM) with two rebounds, an assist and a steal. He’s averaging 13.8 points in his past five games.
Marcin Gortat, Phoenix Suns
Gortat scored 16 points (6-10 FG, 4-7 FT) with six rebounds, an assist and three blocks. He’s played 30+ minutes the past three games so he’s worth a look as long as he maintains that playing time.
Omri Casspi & Carl Landry, Sacramento Kings
Casspi scored 14 points (4-7 FG, 2-2 FT, 4-6 3PM) with 10 rebounds, an assist and a steal. Landry added 11 points (3-11 FG, 5-5 FT), with 12 rebounds and an assist. Like most Sacramento players, they are wildly inconsistent.
