NBA Rumors: Would the Heat Consider Trading Mike Miller for the Right Player?
When Mike Miller made his return to the Heat, there was talk that he might make someone trade bait.
Who knew that might be him?
James Jones has been playing extraordinary in Miller's role all year long, shooting 43 percent from beyond the arc and leading on defense, taking charge after charge.
In fact, the Heat have had trouble finding minutes for Miller.
Miller has yet to make a field goal in 23 minutes of play, and has just one point.
Could the Heat package Miller with another role player to get a key contributor?
Due to salary cap restrictions, his contract of $4 million a year means the Heat would have to find a player that matches that, but is worth more to them.
Here are some possible options.
Rodney Stuckey
1 of 5
Stuckey is currently "stuck" playing for the Detroit Pistons.
At season's end he will be a restricted free agent, so the Pistons will more than likely be listening to offers for him.
One of the Heat's weakest positions is point guard, and Stuckey generates 16.7 points a game to go with 5.4 assists.
The Heat could easily make this trade happen if they wanted to, as Miller's generously low contract would be much more appealing than keeping Stuckey on the roster.
Aaron Brooks
2 of 5
Aaron Brooks is one of the more underrated point guards in the NBA.
In the final year of his contract, he has been having trouble getting an extension from the Rockets.
Brooks averages 12.9 points a game to go with 4.4 assists and more than likely could be acquired with the right offer.
Andre Miller
3 of 5
Word has it that Andre Miller is on the block.
He would be the perfect distributor that the Heat could use.
Miller averages nearly eight assists a game and 13 points. If he were to play for the Heat, the assists number would obviously go up while the points would go down.
If the Heat wanted to, they could make this trade work.
Marcus Camby
4 of 5
Marcus Camby is another name rumored to be available.
While it would take some effort to make the financials work, Camby might be worth it.
He would give the Heat a true big man who averages over 10 rebounds a game and nearly two blocks.
Andray Blatche
5 of 5
Could Andray Blatche be traded after having an altercation at practice?
He averages about 17 points a game and eight rebounds and would definitely generate plenty of interest from teams around the NBA.
Miller has experience in Washington, and I'm sure they would show some interest in bringing him back.
