Updated Fantasy Football Rankings at Week 13: Top 30 TEs for the Rest of 2010

The New England Patriots' tight end situation between rookies Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez is as much of a toss-up as any position in the league. It seems that the two players just go back-and-forth every week with one of them having a big score and the other doing absolutely nothing. Gronkowski has been used more in the red zone and has seen the field more often as of late, but it wouldn’t really be surprising to see Hernandez have a big game this week after he falls down nine spots.

A slowed down Vernon Davis has suffered statistically since Troy Smith became the starting quarterback for the 49ers, but remains one of the highest potential tight ends and falls only one spot this week to 4th. Davis is the 49ers’ best red zone threat and they are making a surprising run for the playoffs, so don’t expect Davis to continue at this slow pace. He should turn it on at least a bit more before the season comes to an end.

New York Giants tight end Kevin Boss rises up to 16th this week as he has risen from his fantasy football grave. With all of the wide receiver injuries in New York, Eli Manning has now thrown three touchdown passes to Boss over the past four weeks. The Giants don’t pass to their tight ends very often, but they may have to start doing so more often if they hope to keep their passing game going at this pace.
