Cleveland Cavaliers: Mo Williams and Co. Must Remember What They're Doing Tonigh

Christopher KeshishianDec 2, 2010

The Cleveland Cavaliers are actually off to a nice start, despite being a sub-.500 team. They're one of the biggest surprises of the season so far, only a few games behind the Miami Heat, home of basketball's most hated figure right now, Lebron James.

Not too long ago, Lebron was rocking the red and white and bringing the Cavs wins.

Even though he won two consecutive MVP awards in a span of seven years with the Cavs, the franchise was embarrassed on national TV by James, when he announced that he would be "taking his talents to South Beach."

James's new team is struggling, big time.

It is the Cavs' chance to redeem themselves and make a complete fool out of Lebron James.

Remember July 8th

The entire team has to remember what James did to the franchise, how he made them the laughing stock of the NBA with one decision.

It's their chance to get back at James, and a win in Cleveland tonight would do just that.

Cleveland is only three games behind Miami in the Eastern Conference. That was a shocker to the whole sportsnation, as Miami was projected to lose only two to three games up until this point.

Cleveland has also shocked the sports world, as many thought they might not even have a win by now.

So far, James is unhappy with his new team, and Dan Gilbert is probably at the stadium as of now yelling at Lebron while he warms up.

The Cavs must not forget that they are playing a good team, no matter what the record says. They may have trouble containing both James and Wade but should not have a hard time with Bosh with Antwan Jamison, Varejao and Hickson there to defend him.

I see Mo Williams taking the game over, since he must feel the most betrayed by Lebron's choice.

Williams is a great scorer and passer. If he plays with intensity, he should get to the line A LOT tonight, and he is an amazing free-throw shooter, so he should get some easy points.

J.J. Hickson should step up tonight, as he was predicted to be the guy to take over once Lebron was gone. A good performance tonight should show that he is.

Most importantly, play team ball.

No one player on the Cavs can create shots for himself, so passing and rotation are the keys tonight.

Get The Bench Some Time Too

Nothing would be more embarrassing for Lebron than to be beaten by a team that is going to use their bench too. I don't know why, but I can see Jamario Moon pulling off a highlight tonight on James.

The bench playing could also give some rest to Williams and the key guys so that they can perform late game if it comes down to just a few points.

Antwan Jamison should be able to abuse Bosh in the post, seeing he is not a good defender. Jamison would be able to score in almost any way over Bosh, and he is a decent rebounder.

Jamison holds one of the keys to a W tonight, and the team should make good use of it.

Miami's down low defense is horrible at this point. Joel Anthony is the only able shotblocker, but he won't see time due to his rebounding.

Moon, Williams, Jamison and Hickson should take advantage of the gaping hole down low for easy points. Again, some good passing may be key. They could run some pick and rolls for Jamison and Hickson and have Moon cut for easy points in the paint.

Also, due to their lack of quality bigs, the Cavs need to rebound and win all the hustle plays if they want a chance to win the game.

The fans will get to Lebron's head tonight, no doubt. Wade and Bosh may not be affected, but the Cavaliers need to remember that they have the crowd in the game, and it may prove to be a huge advantage.

They will constantly do anything to mess with Miami's rhythm.

The Cavs could add onto that by playing extremely physically, especially Hickson who is big and strong. All fouls should be hard fouls, and some may even be intentional, just to show Miami that they're not welcome back in Cleveland ever again.

The crowd is going to explode no matter what, that is a given.
