Chris Bosh: Why He Should Have Signed With The New York Knicks Instead of Miami
Chris Bosh put up monster numbers in Toronto and was "The Man." He played with passion and intensity during his time with the Toronto Raptors and that is why the fans loved him.
His nickname was CB4 and he was becoming one of the best players in the NBA, then came the All-Star Break of the 2010 National Basketball Association regular season and from there, everything went downhill.
The Toronto Raptors, pre-All Star break, were one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. After the All Star Break, the team collapsed.
Accusations were thrown around wildly when the Raptors missed the playoffs, saying that Chris Bosh didn't try, that he faked injury and just plain gave up. Some of that may very well be true, but only Chris Bosh knows.
Anyways, Bosh (like James) blew off the Toronto Raptors and went to join the Miami Heat and become part of the big three. Personally, I always liked Bosh when he was with Toronto. But, the way he acted during the off-season was despicable, immature and I said good riddance.
I understood why Bosh wanted to go to Miami, I did, but I thought he could have acted better throughout the entire process.
Anyways, upon listening to Bosh fight with Bryan Colangelo throughout the offseason and his remarks about why he wanted to leave Toronto, I became confused.
Bosh said one of the reasons he left was because he wasn't getting the media attention he thought he deserved! Give me a break!
It is also no secret that Bosh loves getting the ball every possession, every player does, but Bosh doesn't know how to react when he isn't involved in an offensive possession.
All of this leads me to a question I have been burning to ask: WHY on earth would you go to Miami?
It makes absolutely no sense why, because of how the Heat's season has turned out so far for Bosh and what he said in the offseason, I wonder why he didn't go to New York, and here is why.
The Media In New York
Chris Bosh said he wanted more media attention—well I am sorry, but where else in the world are you going to find more media exposure than New York?
The media is all over the New York teams and the fans are nuts down there. They love the players and regardless of how the team does—the arena will be filled no matter what.
If Chris Bosh had wanted all this media attention, he had the opportunity to go to New York and be "THE GUY" instead of the third wheel of the big three in Miami. Bosh would have been worshiped in New York and would be rolling in even more cash in New York.
Instead, Amar'e Stoudemire is the man in New York and Bosh has missed out.
Offensive Possessions
Regardless of whether I hate what New York represents in every way, shape and form, one thing is for sure: They know how to treat their stars right.
If Chris Bosh had chosen New York, he would have the ball on almost every possession if he wanted it that way. They would make sure that Bosh was the main focus of the offensive game and they would work to make sure that happened.
In Miami, Bosh is getting little offensive touches with the exception of when Wade is absent. Bosh looks lost on the floor and he doesn't know how to play or contribute without touching the ball.
Honestly, I know Miami is a dream team, but from Bosh's point of view, I am shocked he didn't choose New York.
Also, because I am in a Bosh-trampling mood, had anybody noticed that he doesn't look very in shape this year? Maybe it is just me, but seriously, he looks mentally and physically drained.
It is very possible that Bosh expected to come to Miami and glide through, problem free. That has not been the case and it is very possible that Bosh is regretting his decision to come to Miami.
Because if Bosh cannot handle the Heat, he better get out of the kitchen.
