Kevin Durant Not Using His Famous "Rip Move" To Dominate Defenders

Mike AikinsNov 7, 2010

After watching emerging superstar Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder develop a patented "rip" move that became a staple in his arsenal of scoring exploits, I have yet to see him use the move at all this year.

This move drove opposing teams and coaches bananas last year and forced embattled Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle to call it "that stupid jump-in thing" after Durant schooled his Mavericks team with the move on several occasions.

This is a shout-out to Kevin Durant: "Do the Thunder fans a favor and bring this move back!"

It is patented by you and it is unstoppable when you use it in game-changing situations to gain momentum for your team.

The move requires you to focus more on exploiting your opponent and getting the shot that you want while drawing a foul, rather than shooting in rhythm off of a screen or a shot that you have to get on your own and without going to the line.

The rip move helped Durant and the Thunder take control and gain momentum in a lot of key situations.  This resulted in putting Durant (a 90 percent free-throw shooter) on the free-throw line every time.

The Thunder desperately need to go back to what worked for them last year and especially since nobody proved that they could stop it.

Durant's game and body are perfect for the rip move because at 6'10" tall with long arms, no other team has a defender that can match-up to him out on the perimeter.

So Kevin Durant, if you are listening: bring back your signature rip move and see if it will get your team back to where you were last year.
