Who Will Be the NBA's Most Valuable Player?
The 2010-11 MVP race will have five serious competitors in an extremely close race but only one man can win. In my opinion the NBA Most Valuable Player trophy will be received by a player that has never held it before.
Most years there will be players that are snubbed from this list but this award will be given to a player who will lead his team from beginning to end, barring that they meet certain requirements. The last two seasons, the award has gone to LeBron James.
I can almost guarantee that due to his super team, he will not win it this season.
5. Derrick Rose
1 of 5
I fully expect Derrick Rose to be the undisputed leader of the Chicago Bulls and lead them to a top four seed in the Eastern Conference. With his new best friend Carlos Boozer, Joakim Noah and his off season pick ups Rose will have more weapons.
His assists will rise and I expect him to be a 18-21 ppg. scorer. Unfortunately his stats won't compare to some of the other guys on this list.
4. Kobe Bryant
2 of 5
Once Kobe Bryant is completely healthy, he will be out to prove his Lakers are still the best team in the NBA. This will be the most efficient season in his career if he understands what his body will and will not allow him to do.
His stats will be something like 24 ppg., five rebs, six asst, and he will shoot about 48 percent. The talent around him ultimately negates his ability to win the award for the second time in four years.
3. Carmelo Anthony
3 of 5
I know his future is in doubt but when the season starts he will be out to show his worth. He will be one of the top two NBA scorers and if he commits to defense and if leads his Nuggets to a top 2 seed in the west, the possibility is there.
2. Kevin Durant
4 of 5
Kevin Durant is expected to win the MVP this season and it would surprise me if he did. There is a high possibility that he will be one of the top two leading scorers in the league.
He can lead his Oklahoma City Thunder to possibly the second seed in the west but it all comes down to what the Thunder's season record is compared to the No. 1 guy on this list.
1. Dwight Howard
5 of 5
I don't understand why this guy doesn't get enough love anyway but this is the year Dwight's Howard's offense will show up.
He will be the leading rebounder and shot blocker in the league and if he drops more than 20 ppg and the Magic's record is better than the Thunder's, He will be the NBA 2010-2011 Most Valuable Player.
