Spontaneous Gilbert Arenas

Gilbert Arenas tossed a coin in the air determining which team he will play in 2003 after being one of the sought-after free agents of the NBA. He eventually played with the Washington Wizards but that is how spontaneous agent zero is. He could throw a million dollar party called “Arenas Express” and play video games if he wants. The jokester and prankster, Arenas played too many jokes that eventually the joke was on him.

 He wanted to wear the number zero to remind him of those people who criticized him that zero would be the number of minutes  Gil would play on his freshman year at Arizona and ended up playing 32 minutes in his first season. Zero reminds him of those teams who passed him during the draft until Golden State drafted him in the second round as their 31st pick. It was through these times that Gilbert was loved by people and it was through Agent Zero that people can relate their selves going through adversities and tough times…

But that has been put aside now. Gilbert grew up and Agent Zero was just a thing in the past. He wears number 9 and he sports a heavy beard and a grumpy personality. The smile was replaced with a stone cold lifeless face. “The only place I want to smile is on the court,” he said. “That’s where my job is, that’s where my love is.” Losing three years of his prime due to injuries and with felony charges last season that made him missed a lot of games it was understandable for Arenas to be like that. And with his $80 million left on his $124 million contract he was untradeable with his unstable legs and personality.
He wanted out of the limelight he wanted out of Agent Zero. This is the new Gilbert Arenas, the all business, less smile, less talk and serious Gil. But being grumpy doesn’t help him improve his image it just puts him into a different stage where he is scrutinize and judge.

Life has been hard for Arenas lately. It has been a constant struggle throughout, when his mother left him as a child, when people say he couldn’t make it. It was always been proving everybody wrong. Now Arenas wants to step out on that shadow. He wants to be the bad guy this time… Love him or hate him it’s just Gilbert Arenas being spontaneous.
