Shooting Stars: Ted Leonsis Hints Washington Wizards May Become Bullets Again

Zach HerringOct 7, 2010

Washington Wizards owner Ted Leonsis made a list called "The Wisdom of Our Crowds—101 To Do List Final."

Some of the things featured on the list are requests Leonsis took from fans. But the two that are exciting for lovers of the old team name, the Bullets, are right here.

No. 28 on the list is "Change Wizards colors back to red, white, and blue," which Leonsis  said is in development.

No. 31 on the list is "Change Wizards team name to Bullets," which Leonsis said is in consideration.

I am for this; it is a great idea. Because who wouldn’t want to walk around rockin’ a John Wall red, white, and blue Bullets jersey?

The answer to that? EVERYBODY wants to wear that jersey.

Jersey sales for the "Bullets" would skyrocket. Sales for Wizards merchandise rose as soon as the Wizards took John Wall.

Nobody knows how serious Leonsis is about this.

He could have just said this to excite Wizards fans and NBA fans in general.

Adding a John Wall is like a fresh start for a team that has struggled in years past. Changing the jerseys back to the old red, white, and blue is another new start. Changing the team name would be yet another great fresh start for this team.

They have promising talent. Hopefully they will do something with it.
