Danica Patrick Finds Fame Where You Least Expect
Fans and doubters of Danica Patrick and her racing abilities can get the facts behind those flashy pictures and less-than-stellar NASCAR results.
Bluewater Productions announced the new comic book, Fame: Danica Patrick, will go on sale in December. All of you who find interest in the 100 lb. hottie just got something new for holiday gift giving.
Writer C.W. Cooke said, "We've all seen the pictures and heard the gossip about her, but digging into her story and learning about her really focused me on the fact that she's a real person and not just a pin-up model or one-note person."
Judging from the cover of the comic book, she has graduated from pin-up status to perhaps that of a super hero.
The writer also went on to say that even devoted fans would learn something new in the 32-page comic, that will retail for $3.99 at comic book shops and online retailers like Amazon.com.
Those NASCAR fans who believe she will never succeed in the Nationwide series will find that very issue addressed. The comic will not sugarcoat the hype she has received, despite her recent performance.
The biographical comic addresses the struggles of Patrick in a sport dominated by males and why the public is seemingly fascinated by the media darling.
Patrick prepares to return to the NASCAR Nationwide series at Auto Club Speedway this upcoming weekend. She will then have five more races this season to work on her gig in NASCAR.
Perhaps the momentum from her second place finish in the final IndyCar race at Homestead-Miami Speedway will enable her to focus more intently on driving a stock car without open-wheel distractions in the back of her mind.
Now, all you doubters can rant about Patrick cutting one more deal that will bring in the bucks; one more deal that shows she doesn't really intend to become a superstar in NASCAR.
Cooke, the writer, describes the artwork as "breathless." That alone may attract a specific group of new comic book fans.
Maybe, just maybe, more people should get a copy of Fame: Danica Patrick and get to know what really drives Danica. We all know she is not in this for the exposure and that she is a serious racer intent on making her mark in NASCAR—don't we?
