Rumor: Joakim Noah offer was lower than it was reported
Few weeks ago from the same source, reported that the Chicago Bulls offered Joakim Noah a five years and $60 million dollar offer but Joakim Noah is holding out for more
"The contract extension the Chicago Bulls offered Joakim Noah several weeks ago was actually a five-year, $57 million deal. Noah isn’t happy.
"
If this is actually true, then I think it starting to make some sense now that the Chicago Bulls start offering what he is worth but Joakim Noah is holding out for more. He is getting about 11.4 million per season if the offer was actually on the table, I do not blame Joakim Noah is holding out for more. But in reality he is worth $57 million for five seasons or lower. I think the offer as mention above is fair for Joakim Noah.
The part that is worry me the most right now is that the end of the short sentence from the quote above when it say “Noah isn’t happy.” this can get ugly real fast. But again, the sources is from Alex Kennedy from hoopsworld and usually I take the source as a gain of salt when they are reporting some information. While they do get some of their stories right a few times this past summer, back on topic it is worry me that this may cause some distraction for Joakim Noah and the Chicago Bulls. Especially the trade rumors going on regarding Carmelo Anthony and Joakim Noah himself.
It is possible that Joakim Noah is looking for a max deal, if he does then that is the time may reconsider trade him. He is not at all worth the max contract, that is a superstar type of contract and as much I love Joakim Noah and his game he is no superstar and not worth the max, again assuming he looking for a max which is possible. I do still want to keep him which is important to the team but if he is looking for a max then you may have to consider include him in a trade for Carmelo Anthony or get something solid in return.
