Charles Barkley: 10 Things He Could Say To Make LeBron James Angry

RM HeroldAug 16, 2010

Getting Charles Barkley mad doesn't seem like a smart thing to do.

The guy can get on TV anytime he wants, he always has a funny opinion and he is fearless.

Everyone else seemed to take a step back after LeBron's now infamous tweet, (“Don’t think for one min that I haven’t been taking mental notes of everyone taking shots at me this summer. And I mean everyone!”)

Everyone except for Sir Charles.

He's more upset than before.

I'm guessing he's going to start following Lebron around and really telling him how he feels about him.

And saying things like...

10. Dan Gilbert

1 of 10

Charles: "I really like Dan Gilbert."

Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert is most likely a pretty good businessman and as far as we can tell, really passionate about his team. But what the man can do better than most, is put together a damn good letter.

Such as the one he wrote blasting James for leaving Cleveland.

My favorite part? The section near the end, all in CAPS:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER 'KING' WINS ONE."

Nice.

Tough to pull off, but a nice touch nonetheless.

I can see Charles backing GIlbert and really declaring war on LBJ.

By the way, Dan. Creepy smile much?

Why so serious?

9. Late-night Partying

2 of 10

Charles: "You don't know how to party!"

Barkley is well known for his late nights and extracurricular activities, but all we have to go on are rumors and police mugshots.

Whether James knew it or not, he let ESPN.com reporter Arash Markazi party with him in Vegas and later report on it.

It took an act of God (aka the worldwide leader in sports) to kill the story.

That would never happen when Charles and MJ are hanging out.

Charles Oakley would make sure of that.

8. Through the Window

3 of 10

Charles: "Only Punks get heckled."

If you didn't hear, while hanging out at an Ohio Amusement park, Cleveland fans rolled tape as hecklers passed by and made comments to James as he shot (and missed) several free throws.

The bystanders got off zingers like "I bet you miss... just like game 5" and "Bron, shoot left-handed; your elbow hurts!"

Wow.

That wouldn't have happened to Sir Charles.

The last man that bothered Chuck when he was out with friends, got thrown through a glass window.

The legend goes on that Barkley was arrested and brought in front of a judge who then asked him if he had any regrets about what he did to the man.

And Barkley responded: "“Yeah I regret we weren’t on a higher floor.”

7. Michael, Magic, or Smith?

4 of 10

Lebron has always said that he wants to be a global icon and remembered as a great player. Lately the debate has been whether James is closer to being the next Michael Jordan or the next Magic Johnson.

I could see Barkley on TNT, saying "First of all, Ernie, Lebron is not Michael, I'm good friends with Michael. And he ain't Magic. I'm good friends with him, too. Lebron is more like a rich man's Kenny Smith".

Then Charles will laugh and his belly will jiggle. Kenny will scowl then turn to him and say:

Kenny: "Actually he's more like you, because neither of you have rings."

Then Charles will insult Kenny's momma and they'll go to commercial.

6. Nickname Bashing

5 of 10

Charles: "You ain't royalty! I'm royalty!"

Lebron's twitter name is King James on Twitter.

Ever since he has been in the league he has been known as King James.

So what better way to get under LeBron's skin than to mock the man's nickname?

Especially since Barkley's nickname is Sir Charles.

5. Punk Trio

6 of 10

Charles: "You won't win 7 division titles".

This would be a play on when James, Wade and Bosh were on stage in Miami.

Not only did Barkley say that the new Miami "Big 3" were: "jumping around on stage like punks", but he could go onto point out that Lebron is not going to win anywhere near the amount of league championship titles he thinks he will in South Beach.

4. My Fave Five Is a Punk-Free Zone 'Bron.

7 of 10

As we all know the Chuckster makes T-Mobile commercials with two of Lebron's contemporaries.

What better way to piss the King off than to point out that he can't make Chuck's list?

3. The Youth Movement...Or Not

8 of 10

Rumors are that Lebron is sensitive to people saying he looks older than his 25 years.

So I can see Charles teasing him:

"Lebron how come me, you and Greg Oden went to a night club and they only carded me? How come they let you and Greg go in without checking your ID's? Because you two look old, that's why!

"Did you hear me Kenny, I said they look old. Old as my granddaddy."

Then he'll laugh some more as Kenny and Ernie shake their heads and go to commercial.

2. Low, Even for Charles...

9 of 10

Charles: "Where does Delonte play these days?"

This would be low, even for Charles...

After the Cleveland season ended and James signed with Miami, Delonte West was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves, who then waived him.

I can see Charles asking about Delonte's whereabouts and then giggling. He wouldn't go any further than that, because he knows how guys are about their mothers.

And even Kenny would warn him not to go there.

(If you don't know what I am talking about, google "Delonte West" and "Mother". That is all I will say about the matter.)

To the left is the notorious cougar hunter himself with a sexy bounty: Vivica A. Fox.

1. The Man Himself

10 of 10

Charles: "You will win as many titles as I did."

But being that he is Barkley, he will add...

"But I'll still be prettier, and you'll still look older than me."
