Everyone is questioning LeBron James’ decision to "take his talents to South Beach" and play for the Miami Heat. Critics say that James will never be thought of as Michael Jordan because he is playing on Dwayne Wade’s team. It doesn’t matter where LeBron James plays; he will always be the focal point of the offense.

Here are 4 reasons why LeBron James made the right decision and will still be the league’s best player.

1) LeBron James is the best player in the NBA. Period. Kobe is winning rings but his best days are gone. If LeBron had been on that Lakers squad, the result would have been the same. No disrespect to Dwayne Wade but LeBron is a once in a lifetime talent. Does anyone think that if Jordan went to the Lakers or Celtics in the 90’s that they would not have become his team? It doesn’t matter what the media or fans think. NBA players know who the best player on the team is.

2) Wade is almost 3 years older than LeBron. Wade will be 29 in January and LeBron will just be turning 26 at the end of December. Everyone knows that athletes lose a step at the age of 30. As good as Kobe Bryant is, he isn’t the Kobe of 5 years ago. LeBron will just be entering his prime when DWade turns 30. Does anyone think that a player who has won back to back MVP awards and shot over 50% from the field last season will be a number 2 option?

3) It’s all about championships. Cleveland fans may be upset with LeBron, but he had good reason to bolt town. LeBron was never going to win a championship in Cleveland. He would never have been considered a top 10 great if he didn’t win a title. He could have averaged 40 points a game and made 20 All Star teams but with no title he is Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Reggie Miller, and Dominique Wilkins. He would be the best player ever to never win a ring.

4) People forget that Bird had McHale and Parrish. Magic had Kareem and Worthy. Jordan had Pippen. LeBron had Mo Williams. Bird never won a title without McHale and the Chief. Magic never won without Kareem and Mike never won without Scottie. Remember what Kobe Bryant was like when Shaq left? He was Tracy McGrady, a dominant scorer whose team got bounced in the 1st round every year. Enter Pau Gasol and Kobe is a NBA champion again. As much as they hate to admit it, great players need other great players.
