And Now, Your Chicago Jazz!

Lane RizzardiniJul 18, 2010

The Bulls signed Jazz guard Ronnie Brewer to a three-year $12.5 million contract Friday after the Magic matched the Bulls’ offer sheet for restricted free agent J.J. Redick, making Brewer the third Jazz player the Bulls have signed this offseason after Kyle Korver and Carlos Boozer arrived earlier in the free agency period.

Brewer has averaged 10.8 points and more than a steal per game over his four-year career and figures to be the Bulls starting shooting guard this coming season, the last spot they needed to fill after they lost the Wade/Bosh/LeBron James Sweepstakes. More than likely this will be the last major move the Bulls make this offseason, meaning their starting line up will look something like this (with their ’09-’10 stat lines):

Point Guard: Derrick Rose (21 points/4 rebounds/6 assists)

Shooting Guard: Ronnie Brewer (9/3/3)

Small Forward: Luol Deng (17.5/7/2)

Power Forward: Carlos Boozer (19.5/11/3)

Center: Joakim Noah (10.5/11/2)

Kyle Korver (14/4/3.5) and second-year man Taj Gibson (9/7.5/1) figure to be the first two off the bench, giving the Bulls a much improved line-up from last season, albeit not exactly what they were hoping for .
