NBA Free Agency 2010: Odds and Predictions on Tracy McGrady's New Home

Portland Trail Blazers (30-1)

Oklahoma City Thunder (30-1)

He's far from their top priority, but the Thunder are going to be a little under the cap.
What better way to reward Kevin Durant for his early contract extension than to give him a big-name star to match up with and give the team a deeper rotation?
This is all about how much the Thunder want to spend. And for McGrady, playing with a top-five star would be a harsh reality that he's not the man anymore.

Los Angeles Clippers (20-1)

There are two reasons I ever have the odds this good for the Clips.
First, this is exactly the kind of guy that all-time idiot Donald Sterling would overpay for.
Second, T-Mac gets to play in the Staples Center without having to mix in with out-of-control egos.
Cleveland Cavaliers (19-1)

Dan Gilbert has to just accept that LeBron James is only coming through that door as a visitor now.
He'd be overpaying for a star that's not a star anymore. T-Mac isn't going to help the fan base forget about James. His inadequacies are just going to put more focus on the misery.
This team is absent a leader. I have just never seen McGrady as that guy.
This is simply a case of wrong place, wrong time—no matter what they'll pay.

New Jersey Nets (12-1)

Chicago Bulls (10-1)

I think this works even if the Bulls end up landing J.J. Redick.
You still have two guys in Redick and Kyle Korver who are straight-up shooters.
McGrady's going to be your slashing-to-the-basket alternative.
It would add a facet and depth to the Bulls' rotation that could make for a tough out in June.
Los Angeles Lakers (5-1)

If anyone can make McGrady accept what he is and how important even that lesser T-Mac can be, it's the Zen Master.
There's a bunch of egos in L.A., but there's a hierarchy in place. It's Kobe's show.
If McGrady could focus more on the ring and less on being showcased for something better, this makes a ton of sense.
If you haven't figured it out by now, I'm still not convinced McGrady is ready to be role player.
If he is and if he signs with L.A., he's icing on a threepeat cake.
