King James abdicates throne

The self proclaimed King James has taken a demotion. He will become the Fresh Prince of South Beach. On ESPN they kept talking about sacrificing his ego, leaving 30 million on the table. James has starting tweeting and gearing his website up to supplement his income.

He said he came to Cleveland a boy and is leaving a man. He is a man who has thrown away his legacy. He can never be mentioned in the same breath as Michael, Larry, Magic or Kobe. His determination and will must be questioned. This seems like the easy way to championships, but those are not guaranteed. Even if he wins 6 tittles he will never rise above Scottie, the Admiral, Mchale and other second fiddles.

 D Wade is the King of South Beach. He won a title with Shaq. In Miami there are three superstars and it has not been determined who is number two. Bosh got there through a sign and trade. He will probably be making more money than James. At the time of this writing I have not seen the official signing of James. Don’t tell me the egos are getting in the way already. 

James said the three will all be in the spotlight. If they win a title who holds the trophy first, my bet is Wade. It is his team and his town.

In the end, life will be good in South Beach for James. He will become a bigger celebrity.

The money will come. James didn’t turn his back on his home town, he quit on himself like he did in his last playoff series with the Celtics.

Maybe they should change the name of ESPN to Entertaining Sports Programming Network. That was not journalism. That was pandering to an ego that was supposed to be getting smaller?

It not very often that the third fiddle is even mentioned. Can you name one?
