Heat Vs Lakers: Position Vs Position Battle

Jacob AnsteyJul 9, 2010

So now that the Heat have their 3 stars in Miami we can look at what a Heat v.s. Lakers matchup would look like. Yes, I know Miami's roster is not set, but I will give you a look at what each position battle would look like as of TODAY.

PG: Chalmers (Heat) vs Blake (Lakers)

Chalmbers averaged 7.1 points and 3.4 assists per game for the Heat last year.He is capable of shooting the ball and with the likes of Wade,Lebron, and Bosh their he will have many open shots to take.

Blake averaged 7.3 points and 4.8 assists per game for the Clippers and Trail Blazers last year. He will be used as a good role man for Kobe and could really be effective to be a 10,10 guy. If he can stay healthy.

ADVANTAGE: I'm going to give this one to Chalmers for the one reason that he is younger. And  I think he could be used very well for the Heat as a role man.

SG: Wade (Heat) vs Bryant (Lakers)

Wade averaged 26.6 points and 6.5 assists per game for the Heat last year. He is obviously one of the top players in the NBA. And to combine him with one of the best passers in Lebron. And a good big man in Bosh he could explode. But we will have to look at what he will have to hold him self back for so Lebron and Bosh can also get their love. Wade's assists could go higher and he will have some open shots. But as we all know Wade is not the best shooter.

Bryant averaged 27 points and 5 assists and a very impressive 5.4 rebounds a game last year for the Lakers. Bryant is the go to guy when the clock is ticking down. And he is arguably the best player to ever play the game. Their really is not much to say about Kobe other than he will get the job done for you even if it dosen't look pretty.

ADVANTAGE: This is going to go to Bryant in a close battle. But until someone can beat the Lakers and Kobe I can't take anything away from him.

SF: James (Heat) vs Artest (Lakers)

James averaged 29.7 points and 8.6 assists and 7.3 rebounds a game last year for the Cavaliers. For being so big he is a very good passer. His scoring may take a dip this year, but he will be able to dish the ball out with eas.

Artest averaged 11 points per game last year for the Lakers. But as we all know Artest will be known for his Defense. He averaged just over 1 steal per game last year. But certainly can score the ball on you if you don't take him seriously.

ADVANTAGE: I will give this one to Lebron because not only can he score the ball and pass the ball. People tend to forget how good of a Defender he is.

PF: Bosh (Heat) vs Gasol (Lakers)

Bosh averaged 24 points and 10.8 rebounds a game last year for the Raptors. Bosh is a very good big man. Can get shaken by bigger players. But that dosen't worry be with the matchup with Gasol.

Gasol averaged 18.3 points and 11.3 rebounds a game last year for the Lakers. Gasol can look weak at points and then the other minute look like a superstar.

ADVANTAGE: Until Bosh plays in a big game and proves himself more to me I will give this one to Gasol. But will be a very very fun matchup to watch.

C: Unknown (Heat) vs Bynum (Lakers)

Bynum averaged 15 points and 8.3 rebounds a game last year for the Lakers. If he can stay healthy he can be a very good player.

ADVANTAGE: As you can see the Heat do not have one at the moment. So it easily goes to Bynum.

Now that you know who my advantages go to. Feel free to leave a comment and express your opinion.
