Before writing about the LeBron James decision, I watched the special ESPN program and read the article about the process . I have read about how LeBron James has become the new Art Modell (referring to his decision to take the Cleveland Browns to Baltimore).

While my only experience in basketball was playing it in high school and watching the NBA, I decided to offer a personal opinion of what has transpired.

I also write this article having shared the same birthplace of Akron with him, and knowing the same neighborhoods between Cleveland and Akron.

While LeBron James loves Ohio and is grateful to the Cleveland Cavaliers, he should not be criticized for making a decision to play in Miami. Mr. James helped Ohio in many ways with his involvement in the Boys and Girl's Club of America. He has given his time and effort for the Cleveland Cavaliers and it appears that the time has come to move on.

The Cavs have already outspent themselves. They have already stretched the salary cap to the maximum limit.

That being said, since LeBron James wants to win the NBA Championship, who was Cleveland going to add to help him? The people of Cleveland have not been thankful for what he has done for them in nearly a decade. There is no excuse to burn his shirt or criticize him harshly.

Miami offered a better shot at a title. He's actually taking less money to join them.

It must be remembered that with certain exceptions, the era of one player on one team is over. Remember Brett Favre and his journey after Green Bay.

What should be done is to wish LeBron James the best luck in his decision and hope that it was the right one for him.
