Why The Heat Chemistry Won't Win The Finals Next Season
When Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, and Paul Pierce all went to the Celtics back in 2008, almost everyone expected them to win the NBA Finals.
And they did.
With the new big three in South Beach, it's going to be the same result right? An NBA Finals victory, and then another one, followed by a third.
That's what everyone expects.
However, it won't be easy.
Winning a championship in the NBA isn't easy. If it was, Lebron James would have done it by now. It takes a team of five who knows how to win.
That's why the Heat won't win it next season.
With Bosh, Wade, and "King James" all going to be in a Heat uniform, this means that the supporting cast is all going to be mediocre players put with the big three.
As opposed to Boston who had both Rajon Rondo, who was a great leader at point, and Kendrick Perkins, who is one of the NBA's best post defenders.
It takes more than three stars to win a title. Even Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen had great role players, as did Kobe and Shaq.
With that said, this trio also brings some more problems.
There's only one basketball.
Sure, in the Olympics or the All-Star Game, they didn't mind sharing. However, is Lebron James willing to play off the ball for a whole season a lot more than he did last year?
I thought he wanted to become a worldwide superstar. Right now, he's not even the fan favorite in Miami.
Still, when it comes to game seven of the Finals, Wade will have the ball on the last possession. Wade is still the one that has the ring.
James got swept in his first title appearance.
Which brings me to another problem if they get far into the playoffs: beating the Celtics.
The Celtics are still the team to beat in the East.
Agree or disagree, Kendrick Perkins will match up with Bosh on defense. Tony Allen and Ray Allen can take James, which leaves Rondo in a match up with Wade.
If the Heat plan to get this ring, defense is going to be the key. They'll be able to put up 100 every night, but can they stop Kobe Bryant in the Finals?
All in all, the Celtics still have better teams than the Heat. I even like the Bulls a lot more now with Boozer down low as well.
With all of this happening right now, Kobe Bryant might get the best out of this deal.
He gets to beat them.
