LeBron Just Cant Take The Heat

Joe BesslerJul 8, 2010

The moment after Cleveland lost to Boston, speculation began on where LeBron James would end up.  The obvious choices were Cleveland, Chicago, Miami, New York and New Jersey.

Cleveland could offer the most money, New York could offer the money and another max contract free agent, and Miami was throwing up the idea of having the three headed monster of LeBron, Wade, and Bosh.  Chicago was an intriguing choice as they had the best roster ready to go and win right away.

LeBron had said that it was about winning, and the smart choice would be the Chicago Bulls.  The past few hours though, speculation has begun that sources have said he is very close to announcing he will be joining Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami.

While the Heat would have three of the best players in the league, this is a sport that consists of five players and role players to come off the bench.  As of right now, the Heat will not have a very good team.

Those three players can only do so much, while the Bulls roster, already star studded with Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah and Luol Deng as the core.  The bench consists of Taj Gibson and James Johnson, and earlier today they added an all-star power forward in Carlos Boozer.

Rose, who many consider a top point guard in the league already after just two years, has taken the average Bulls to the playoffs the past two years.  He did this with an average roster, one not full of stars.

Adding Boozer has already improved this team for next year, and if James really wants to win right away, the Bulls would be the smart move.  A starting five of Rose, James, Deng, Boozer and Noah would be one of the best lineups in the league.

With the speculation though, choosing the Heat is what it's coming down to.  I don't think the Heat have the roster to win right away.

Winning is what the Bulls did in the 90's.  Six championships to be exact.  If LeBron is afraid that he can't fill Jordan's shoes, that is something he wouldn't be fully expected to do.

With James on the Bulls, he would have a roster he hasn't had before.  A very talented team that can win right away.

If he wants to join the Heat though, let him, because right now, doing that is just saying he needs stars to win.  Michael Jordan didn't have stars, he had a team that would do anything to win.  He had a family.

Come on LeBron, do what you KNOW is right and come to Chicago.  If you truly mean it is about winning, you know deep down this is your team.  Chicago is a big enough city to hold His Airness and The King.
