NBA Free Agency: Ray Allen Will Stay in Boston, Big 3 Returns
It's official.
Sources close to the Boston Celtics have confirmed that guard, Ray Allen, will re-sign and remain a Boston Celtic.
It is reported that Allen will sign a two year contract worth about $20 million.
As this news was broken, I felt a bit relieved, knowing that Allen will re-join Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce in Boston.
When Doc Rivers announced his future with the team, I was assured that Paul Pierce would re-sign, but I wasn't sure about Allen.
Boston has put themselves in a good position; they're going to be a playoff team while being able to re-tool and rebuild in the upcoming years.
I still believe that the Celtics "window of opportunity" is still open but, it's a very small one.
I can assure you that Boston will be a playoff team next year and years to come.
Danny Ainge is doing a great job of staying competitive while bringing in quality talent and possible trading "chips".
