Lebron A Bull: Does the Carlos Boozer Signing Mean The King Is Next?

Old AccountJul 7, 2010

Moments ago, another domino fell in the NBA Free Agency Period.

According to ESPN.com, the Chicago Bulls and Carlos Boozer has agreed on a five year, 80 million dollar contract.

Boozer was never expected to return to Utah, but quite a few options were open.

I thought this would happen out in the end. Bosh would flee with Wade to Miami, and Boozer would go to the best option in Chicago.

But is this a sign that Lebron James is coming to the Chicago Bulls?

That just might be the case.

Earlier today, I thought it was definite that Lebron would stay in Cleveland.

Not only is the announcement being made in Ohio, but my feeling was Bosh didn't want to go to Cleveland, and having belief that Lebron would remain in Cleveland, join Wade in Miami.

There could be some issues with salary cap space, but the Bulls front office had to have a plan in mind.

Boozer is a great signing no matter what happens in the end, but Lebron would be icing on the cake.

It just seems to suspicious to not think Chicago is one of the two choices the King is keeping on the table.

Hours after the dreams of Chris Bosh joined the Bulls came to a close, executing on  plan B didn't take to quickly.

Boozer is the next best thing, and further gives Lebron the option of joining a team that right now has the best roster of all the available teams.

Plus, the young core of this team hasn't reached their full potential.

A top four of Rose, James, Boozer, and Noah is a great one, and for the time being, an instant contender in the East.

Look, my opinion of where Lebron will land has changed everyday for the past week, so tomorrow may be different.

But I guarantee Lebron James, just like with every other team he visited, gave them the message of bringing in another star alongside of him.

The possible Superteam in Miami is tempting, and so is the bright lights in New York and soon to be Brooklyn.

Heck, even the hometown Cavaliers is convincing as well.

However, the Bulls just improved their case to Lebron of the Windy City being the next home.

Lebron can begin a new dynasty in Chicago, a city that would be in the palm of his hand, just like Michael Jordan had it during his time in the NBA.
