Philadelphia Eagles: If Michael Vick Is Gone, Does It Really Matter?
Well Michael Vick, it appears your tumultuous career is coming to an end.
Yet again, the controversy surrounding Vick has made headlines, followed by the questions concerning his future in the NFL.
The shooting that occurred during his birthday party last Friday may be the last straw.

Whether or not he was involved in the shooting is unknown, and the police have not ruled Vick out as a suspect.
Either way, trouble has always surrounded Michael Vick.
I'm not here to discuss the legal aspects of the shooting, or to regurgitate information about it that has been said for the past six days.
I just have one question. If Michael Vick is gone after this (which he probably will be), is it really that big of a deal for the Philadelphia Eagles?
I don't think so.
Sure, it would be nice to give Vick touches every game to have a true athlete look to make some big plays for the Eagles. I have said before that I would like to see him get 15 touches per game to put opposing defenses on their toes. To tell you the truth, that's just a bonus added on to an already stellar offensive group.
So with this Vick drama exploding in the news, I really don't think it means too much for the Philadelphia Eagles football team.
Last year, 95 rushing yards and 86 passing yards isn't exactly what you would call having a huge impact for a team.
Maybe this year would have been different with McNabb out of the picture. I have tremendous faith in Kevin Kolb getting the job done for Philadelphia.
The experiment that was Michael Vick seemed to have potential, but the main thing to focus on is keeping this group of young players together and focused on producing a winning season this year.
With Kolb, LeSean McCoy, Leonard Weaver, DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, and Brent Celek, the Eagles are formidable indeed.
These players will be able to get it done with or without Vick in the picture.
Right now, it's looking like Vick will not be in the picture, and I actually think it might be beneficial for the Eagles.
Team chemistry is so important to the success of a football team. Playing together and feeling the flow of the game provides momentum and confidence, especially with a young team like the Eagles.
If Andy Reid has the same plans to use Vick as he did last year, it will be devastating to attempts to gain momentum during the flow of play. Substituting Kolb out and Vick in during drives would not be helpful to this team.
There are many other options for this Philadelphia Eagles offense, and Michael Vick is not the priority.
With his future in question, Vick is yet again at the mercy of the court that is Roger Goodell.
If he's in, great. If he's out, the Philadelphia Eagles will be fine.
