Knicks Off-Season- A Failure Without Lebron?
D-Day is drawing near for NBA fans across the country. In a few days, we will know the new home for LeBron James. While the Bulls appear to be the front runners at the moment, teams such as the Knicks, Heat, Nets, and Cavs are still in the mix.
While other teams would certainly like to land LeBron, you can make the case that the Knicks absolutely need LeBron. Knicks fans have been waiting for two years. However, if Donnie Walsh fails to lure LeBron to New York, is the plan a failure?
Adding Joe Johnson and Amare Stoudemire to the roster will immediately make the Knicks a better team, wasn't everything done in order to bring one man into town?
Knicks fans (I'm a huge one myself), how would you view the inability to lure James into a Knicks uniform? Would it be a failure on the part of the front office? Looking at their new "Plan A" in Johnson and Stoudemire, I'd be thrilled to add both. The Knicks would likely be a playoff team once again, but likely wouldn't be one of the top teams in the East.
If LeBron and Chris Bosh land in Chicago, no matter what the Knicks do this off-season, they will likely be looking up to the Bulls for years to come. Now that's not saying that even with LeBron they become an instant title contender. They still have holes to fill, but landing LeBron is a huge and necessary step forward for the franchise.
Two long years. Two years waiting for LeBron to come to New York, and it all might slip away. So, Donnie Walsh, you have about 72 hours to make your play. While other teams would love to have him, you NEED to land LeBron James.
So what do you think Knicks fans? How will you view this off-season if LeBron signs elsewhere? Will you be happy landing two all-stars or will you consider things a failure if LeBron James isn't wearing a New York Knicks uniform next season?
