NBA Draft 2010: Philadelphia 76ers Preview and Possible Andre Iguodala Trade?
Last week Evan Turner had his workout with the Philadelphia 76ers . The Sixers were very impressed with what he showed as a player , and the type of character Turner is.
Maybe two Hours after Turners workout the news broke that the Sixers made a trade with the Sacramento Kings sending Dalembert and his almost $13 Million he was due to make this upcoming season in exchange for Spencer Hawes and Andres Nocioni .
First thing that I thought was maybe they didn't like what they saw with Turner and decided to go the route in picking Favors, that clearly was not the case. On the 76ers Official site this picture was shown (above). It was said that the page was "accidentally" put up live on the 76ers site. Maybe this was a sign of them making teams believe Turner is who Philly wants, when really they are trying to have more teams call to be trade partners with. Stefanski has said that no one on the team is untouchable and that he is still trying to make moves. But all in all I do believe they (76ers) realize the type of player Turner is and will not pass on him. I'm just glad he is finally using his brain and seems like he really cares in making the 76ers good again.
Now a couple days ago Wes Johnson had his workout with the 76ers and here is what Doug Collins said after watching Johnson,''Watching Wesley work out was like, 'Wow, that was impressive." "This young kid, he's got it. (He's) charismatic, he can play, (he's) respectful, he's older. (He's) impressive.'' Doug Collins compared him to Scottie Pippen and that shows the type of player Johnson could be, especially when Doug drafted Pippen and put that Bulls team together. Johnson said after his workout that "I think there’s a good shot for me to come here." For me, not so much unless we get back into the top 5.
There is a rumor flying around that the Cavs have been talking to the Kings about a deal sending Mo Williams to Sacramento in exchange for Udrih & 5th pick as basic pieces. After that trade Cleveland would like to move the 5th pick including Delonte and a couple of expiring contracts to Philly for Iguodala. That source came from someone inside the Cavs organization. It's also not unknown that Cleveland wanted Iguodala around the trade deadline this past season. Each team I think gets a good deal, and for some who think Kings don't need Mo cause they have Tyreke Evans, Evans is a 2 guard not a 1.
Many of rumors of course this time of year are flying all over the place with things involving the Draft, trade rumors and of course the most anticipated free agency which starts July 1st. I expect Philly to make more moves within the next few weeks and as much as I don't want Iguodala to be dealt, (unless it's the deal show above) it's a possibility that he could be in a new uniform next season.
These next few weeks can get very interesting in Philadelphia , let's just hope it's for the better.
Also on another note I would just like to say R.I.P to Manute Bol . You will be missed.
