Chicago Bulls: Building a Dynasty for 2010-2011
The internet is flooded with articles, blogs, and conversations regarding the Chicago Bulls’ plans for the 2010-2011 season. Plenty of scenarios would improve Chicago’s roster, while hardly any would jeopardize it.
In all seriousness, the Bulls could become a better team at the worst, or build a dynasty in the best case scenario. Here is just one scenario that, although some may consider too much, I find highly likely and beneficial for all individuals involved.
Let’s start with LeBron James.
There is plenty of information regarding James and I encourage you to read up on him (like you have not already). LeBron will be a perfect fit for this ball club.
He can find any open player and give them a good shot, as he showed in Cleveland. He and Rose would demand plenty of attention and allow defenses to close out on shooters, and they would open the lane easily.
Having two superstars (Yes, Rose is a superstar) provides a luxury not many teams have. But why limit yourself?
Chicago has the money to go after three superstars. My pick would be Chris Bosh.
Bosh can swish jumpers with the best of them, and he boasts an efficient low post game. Remember Pau Gasol, the last power forward who did this in the playoffs?
Well, he is now a two-time NBA champion.
Having two great playmakers on a team capable of finding open shooters, it is only natural to pair them up with exactly that, pure shooters. And I know what name came to mind when you read “pure shooter.”
Ray Allen.
The outside threat may not stay in Boston. While this will be stretching things too much, signing Allen to a mid level exception (assuming he accepts this kind of money in exchange for playing alongside Bosh and James), would give the Bulls the best starting lineup the city, and most of the NBA, has seen in years.
This being said, here is how the Chicago Bulls 2010-2011 dynasty looks:
Point Guard: Derrick Rose
Shooting Guard: Ray Allen
Small Forward: LeBron James
Power Forward: Chris Bosh
Center: Joakim Noah
Assuming the Bulls are willing to spend money this summer, they will likely re-sign Brad Miller to an inexpensive deal. That would leave them with a solid bench consisting of Miller, Kirk Hinrich, Taj Gibson, and what should be a solid draft pick.
Now, if that doesn’t open your eyes, then you probably need to read this again.
