LeBron James Is In a No Win Situation
It was Abraham Lincoln who once said "you can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but you can't please all of the people all of the time".
This quote was made for LeBron James. Wherever the King goes some lucky fans will be jubilant with the possibilities of him and maybe Bosh or even Wade lighting up an arena near them, however the only combination the majority of fans will be left with is anger and crippling disappointment.
All of those Knicks, Bulls, Nets, Heat or Clippers fans' dreams of number 6 hoisting the title aloft in front of them will be crushed as those visions turn to nightmares with the thought of Amare Stoudemire's unique defence being the only thing coming to their beloved team.
If James were to leave he'd be deemed a failure whose departure will bring about a second depression exclusive to the city of Cleveland leaving the locals with no electricity, no civilisation and the likes of Mo Williams and Anthony Parker left scouring for scraps of food in the deserted streets surrounding the abandoned Quicken Loans arena.
The problem James faces is that if he stays, almost purely out of guilt, he may be destined to be held back by the small market and lack of talent the Cavaliers can offer him.
Personally I think LeBron should be able to leave the city to which he's given so much without being chased out as a traitor. He tried to win, he just didn't have the pool of talent around him to do so. He now deserves the freedom to choose where he wants to play, be it where he has the best chance to win (Chicago/Miami), the biggest market (New York/Los Angeles) or the place he knows and loves (Cleveland).
No one knows where Lebron James will play next year, but the one thing we do know is that wherever he lands there'll be many fans left disheartened, demoralized and dismayed elsewhere.
