2010 NBA Finals: Ray Ray Leads Boston To Even Finals
Early this week I said Boston needed to show up with heart in game two, and they did. Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo led the Celtics to a 103-94 victory to even up the Finals at one game a piece.
Ray Allen came up huge tonight for the Celtics with record breaking numbers. He set an NBA Finals record with eight 3-point field goals while finishing up with 32 points.
Boston needed a win tonight, and they got it. Entering this game the pressure was still on the Lakers. LA had not lost a game at home until tonight, and this was the game they needed to win.
Boston made sure that there wouldn't be another repeat of game one of giving up second chance points and playing with "no heart". Rajon Rondo played his heart out. He had his 5th triple double of the playoffs and, along with Ray Allen, picked up some slack for Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett.
Tonight, the C's looked like the Celtics of old. This team is not too old, I don't care what anyone says. When the team wins, the team is experienced, and when the team loss, the team is too old. Look, enough is enough, this team is here to play, and they're here to win.
Boston needs to keep this rhythm as they come back east with three games this up-coming week. If Boston wins two out of three at home, I'd say that'd be a success.
I am so sick of hearing about the experts picking LA in six or seven games. Just take a look at Boston, they have so many weapons and options.
Tonight, the Lakers shut down KG and Pierce, but Rondo and Allen rose to the occasion. If LA keeps playing off Rondo, it will come back and hurt them. Rondo isn't the player of two years ago or even last year. He has the jump shot, and he can knock down the open looks LA gives him.
Boston did what they had to do. They stole a game in Los Angeles, and they come back home with the momentum on their side.
I'm going to stick with predictions, and say Boston will win in six. Boston will take two out of three at home, and they will win game six. They just need to out-will the Lakers on every loose ball and they need to move the ball a lot of offense. They need to play team basketball.
This is what Celtics basketball is all about.
