The Jordan, Kobe and LeBron Debate! Who's Better? Who Actually Cares?

Brandon WrayMay 30, 2010

The debate about who is better among three particular players is still a hot and heavily disputed topic.

While all sides will make a strong case for all three athletes, as a basketball fan who often gets sucked into this argument, I have recently found myself answering with one question.

Who really cares and why?

The mystic surrounding the player who without a doubt dominated the headlines in the 90's. Michael Jordan gave a breath of new life to the NBA. Michael "Air" Jordan was and is still the name most heard when the subject of Basketball is thrown into the conversation.

Kobe Bryant, (love him or hate him), is the top star in the NBA today. All ready having four titles and looking to win a fifth, Kobe has helped raise his team to a championship team and will continue his legacy for a few more years.

LeBron James is the young powerhouse in the league who is probably the all around best player in the NBA. His free agency is still topping the NBA topic list while the Celtics/Lakers Finals show down is a close second.

All three players are fantastic and are the best in their own right. Jordan had his time. Kobe is having his time now. LeBron's time is most surely to come. The fact is you will never truly know who the best is. Why? Because Jordan and Pippen where the top when Kobe entered the league. Jordan and Pippens reign came to an end and here comes Shaq and Kobe in the start of the new millennium. When Kobe leaves it will be LeBron's turn with a suitable partner. Someone is sure to soon follow behind LeBron and soon a fourth will be added to this list.

What I think most fan's are forgetting, (including me until recently), is all three of these men are friends and have a lot of respect for each other and the talent they bring to the game.

This respect and friendship is what causes this debate to continue. So now when this debate arises I simply sit back and smile while the people have it out. The truth is no one will ever know and that's the way we like it!

There is no way all three will ever play each other in their prime! Sorry folks you will never make a stronger case for one you can't make for another.
