The Possible Dangers for the Boston Celtics If They Lose Game Four
When Doc Rivers said "We're not good enough to let up", I hope the Celtics listened and listened well.
It's easy to believe that the series is over, especially since the Magic showed no interest in putting up a challenge in game three.
If the Magic don't make major adjustments in Game 4, their season is done.
The Celtics look determined enough to avoid a major let down and make sure they finish the series off on Monday, May 24th.
What the Celtics probably know and what Celtics fans should be aware of is that the margin for error is not as big as people think.
A Magic victory on Monday means a Game 5 to be played in Orlando.
If the Magic manage to push this to Game 6 then that suddenly puts Boston in a do-or-die scenario because you are suddenly faced with a possible Game 7 in Orlando.
It's hard to recover from these sudden scenario changes. Ask the Magic.
Orlando's biggest mistake coming into this series is thinking that all they have to do is play the way they have been playing and everything should fall into place.
I thought they would have done something for Game 3 but they didn't. Perhaps Stan Van Gundy is just too stubborn to think that he has to change what has been working for them all year.
As stifling as Boston's defense is, Orlando has not made it a challenge at all simply because the match ups have not changed.
The Celtics should at least make sure they don't get caught by surprise on Monday.
If the Magic are able to steal Game 4 by finding a favorable match up combination or plays that suddenly free up Rashard Lewis, then they will be riding that momentum into Game 5 in front of thousands of determined fans in Orlando.
Then the pressure will suddenly be on the Celtics to not lose.
