Get Over Yourselves: Why LBJ Would Make the Most Sense in Chi-Town

Dustin BrownMay 14, 2010

This is my 34th article, and I hereby write this in honor of the amazing running back, and man; Walter Payton-my idol. Enjoy.

I'm so sick and tired of hearing about how LeBron James, the oh so Jordan-like James, will not live up to his stature. As an opinion writer, I sincerely apologize for this rant, but if nobody else says this, I will.

What got me to write the first bit of this read is my recent reading of ESPN's Linda Cohn's article regarding the rumors of the Bulls-LeBron case. Here is the link: http://proxy.espn.go.com/blog/sportscenter/post/_/id/51914/linda-cohn-will-lebron-get-blown-away-by-the-windy-city

She stated that he wouldn't live up to Jordan, so he wouldn't succeed in Chicago.

"By the way, if he goes to the Knicks and wins even one championship, they'd build a statue for him."

You've got to be kidding me.

LeBron wants a championship, not fame.

He is already the face of the NBA. He wants a championship, not just "one" in New York and a statue.

I'm not the one to blast anyone's work, but that was complete garbage. Get it through your head that Jordan is in his own realm while LBJ wants to WIN. Period.

LeBron James will NEVER, I repeat: NEVER, become anything like Jordan.

MJ was one of a kind. Stop the comparisons.

Excuse my rant; time to get down to business.

LBJ would make the most sense to find his way to his elusive championship at Chicago, Illinois.

To back up this opinion, here's my support:

Derrick Rose
Everyone says that he won't move over for James.

One, he's young. LeBron has much more experience.

Two, he's modest. Not that I know him in person, but I could tell that he wouldn't mind being part of a dynamic duo, so to speak.

Three, they respect each other. Respect is a trait, or...personality trait, that can bring success to a locker room.

Leadership
LeBron has it. The Bulls need it.

To me, nothing James says is just talk. I can tell he means it, whereas other kids try to sound like a Tebow, then end up like Gilbert Arenas.

It's hard to have many leaders on one team. That being said, if it were LeBron and Kobe on one team, they both would want the ball and may have opposing view points. You can never have too many "leaders" but you need just one LEADER.

Character
Oh, how basketball has changed...

The Chicago Bulls need some character. LeBron coming to us would just give people, and his teammates, much more hope.

Imagine if you were a young, talented player like Noah being able to play beside LeBron James; a leader with a passion to succeed.

Speaking of Noah...

Joakim Noah
LeBron's "enemy."

Throughout the trash talk, these two talents have the utmost respect for each other.

Even if people talk junk in the heat of the game, you'd still think people would respect each other.

People change during the game, let's face it. Not letting this excuse any misconceptions, but I still think they have love to give.

Not only do the Bulls have a circle of young, fresh talent that would be willing to learn from him, but he could influence the entire team.

Do you see the Knicks wanting LeBron as much as we do? Do the REAL Bulls fans compare him to the amazing Jordan?

Both answers exclude yes.

We want LeBron. We want a championship.

LeBron James wants us. LeBron James wants a championship.
