Is this It for LeBron James as a Cleveland Cavalier?

Wesley KaminskyMay 13, 2010

A year ago LeBron James and the Cavaliers entered the playoffs with a league best 66-16 record, and looked invincible. After sweeping the first two rounds though, they were defeated by the Orlando Magic 4-2, and what ended with LeBron storming off the court and not shaking hands. The LeBron criticism had just begun.

One year later, after bringing in the Big Aristotle, also known has Shaquille O'Neal, and trading for Antawn Jamison this was due to be the Cavs year. The mission going into the season was simple: Win a Ring for the King.

For the second straight season, the Cavs finished the regular season with the best record in the NBA, and now in Eastern Conference Semifinals, The LeBron's are in trouble. After leading the series 2-1, the Cavs now trail 3-2 after getting blown out by 32 points at home in a game in which LeBron James failed to show up.

Now, the Cavs are on the ropes, and must win a game 6 in Boston to keep their season alive, and maybe even LeBron's reign in Cleveland too. Yes, James struggled mightily in game five, which Kobe lovers really enjoyed, but it's just one bad game, and now has a chance to regroup.

Also, it would help he could get some help from his teammates, especially Mo Williams who's defense has been atrocious, unable to stop Derrick Rose in the first round, and now can't stop Rajon Rondo. Williams is a guy who's supposed to be an All-Star point guard, and is surely not playing like it. In order for the Cavs to win this game, Williams will need to show up.

I fully expect LeBron James to come out tonight and carry this Cavs team, just as he has been doing his whole career. I wouldn't want to be guarding the King tonight, and wouldn't want to talk to him if they lose this game. The criticism for James is growing with each loss, and will get even bigger if they lose to the Celtics.

Will this be the last game we witness LeBron in a Cavaliers uniform It remains to be seen. If you are expecting LeBron to put up 15
