The Cleveland Cadavers will Look for Resurrection in Game Six

Frances WhiteMay 12, 2010

LeBron James has done a lot to remove the negative monikers that had been associated with his team and city:  The Cleveland Cadavers and The Mistake by the Lake to name a few; yet the whole city have turned against him because of the sham of a game his team played.

I am not a LeBron fan, but you cannot lay this at his feet.  The man is simply weary of looking in his teammates' eyes and continually rescuing them from a black hole. He was disappointed. LBJ is running on fumes and his vaunted off-season acquisitions have been decidedly overrated.

They figured that as long as LeBron James supplied the necessary offense they could come along for the ride.

The Cavaliers also have to scrap the Shaquille O'Neal reclamation project just as the Phoenix Suns did and run the ball down the Celtics throat.

LeBron has been bringing them to the brink of legitimacy for seven years but they forget his championship experience stems from his high-school years. Hear-in lies the problem, the whole team acts like high-schoolers, posing for imaginary photos and laughing in the face of their opponents during games.

The Cavaliers banked on their regular season triumphs to intimidate the Celtics.  Now it is an all or nothing game and the match-ups do not favor Cleveland.

LeBron's legacy and Cleveland's financial stability depends on the outcome of game six.

I am and always have been a Celtic fan, but the reality is if Mike Brown uses a speed line-up, they may have a better chance of winning two games in a row.

Up until Game Five, Paul Pierce devoted himself solely to slowing James down.  He wasn't always successful but he did make LeBron feel his presence on the defensive end.

Now the Captain, along with the kind of help that LBJ only wishes he had, is poised to slam the door shut on LeBron James and his paper kingdom.

Boston cannot afford to think that just because they are home that they just have to show up.  This isn't the time to feel superior and allow James to dominate like he did in Game Three.

Ubuntu is not alive anymore, but the Celtics do understand the importance off depending on each other.  They have a championship ring to show that this formula works.  They have nine players who have played integral parts as starter when their respective teams have won the championship.  They have possibly four future Hall-Of-Famers on their roster.

LeBron has an aging Shaq and no one to help him through the mental hurdles of taking a less than stellar supporting cast to the promise land. They face a Celtics team that has felt cheated and slighted by the media and is hell-bent on reclaiming what they feel is rightfully theirs.

He may have a LeBron-sized game to show that he is still the regular season MVP, but in reality LBJ has already written the epitaph for his legacy in Cleveland: I'll be gone in September.
