Tiger Woods: His Third Tournament Usually Spells Some Good Results
Tiger Woods wins about every third tournament, so I would not be surprised to see a strong showing this week. That is, if Tiger plays like we have grown accustomed to.
No B-game will suffice here, as most of the players are at the top of their game and are ready for the season's "fifth" major, the Players Championship.
I will again choose Tiger on my Fantasy Golf team this week on Yahoo, where I reside in the 76th percentile, only ahead of one expert for the season after a poor showing last week.
Ricky Barnes did alright for me as my C-player, earning a spot as the backup this week.
On paper I have a pretty good team this week with Geoff Ogilvie and Jim Furyk as my B-players.
Fantasy golf is difficult because of so many players that are all so very good.
The US Open at Pebble Beach will be very interesting, as Tiger Woods loves this golf course, looking at past success.
Is Tiger really back, or will the surgery, public scrutiny, loss of a family to adultery finally take it toll, shoving Tiger Woods to the back-burners of our minds.
Jack Nicklaus must be laughing as he hugs his grandchildren knowing perhaps, that his 78 major victories are forever safe, for he who defies Buddha, will not be rewarded with victories.
Tiger will face lip outs, putts that do not break on obvious slopes, and many other humbling occurrences as karma strikes its cruel blows to the former No. 1 golfer for the last 11 or so years.
John Daly may win a major before Woods does again.
Sleep well, Jack.
