TMZ: Kobe Bryant Memorabilia Found in Storage Locker Sold to Vanessa Bryant

Mike ChiariOct 1, 2020

The contents of an abandoned storage locker sold at auction in Los Angeles have been sold back to Vanessa Bryant, as the items belonged to her late husband, Kobe Bryant.

According to TMZ Sports, a buyer won the items in a storage auction and then sold them for $13,000 to Rene Nezhoda, who used to star on the hit reality series Storage Wars.

Among the pieces purchased by Nezhoda were 35 pairs of shoes, jerseys, Los Angeles Lakers practice gear and even some of Bryant's tax paperwork.

Vanessa reportedly had her representatives reach out to Nezhoda in hopes of buying back some of the items, and Nezhoda obliged. Nezhoda said: "Everything has been worked out. A number of personal items, worn items and paperwork were sold directly back to the Bryant family."

Nezhoda sold the items to Vanessa Bryant for an undisclosed amount, but a source told TMZ Sports it "wasn't about turning a profit."

The former Storage Wars star kept some of the items from the unit that Kobe didn't wear.

Kobe died at the age of 41 in January when a helicopter carrying him and eight others crashed in Calabasas, California. Bryant's 13-year-old daughter, Gianna Bryant, also died in the crash.

Bryant is remembered as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, as he was an 18-time All-Star during his 20-year NBA career, which was spent entirely with the Lakers.

Kobe was also a five-time champion, two-time Finals MVP, two-time scoring champion and one-time MVP.
