MLB Trade Rumors: Tyson Ross Becoming Potential Trade Target
The San Diego Padres could reportedly have a surprisingly valuable piece of trade bait on their hands.
According to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal, starting pitcher Tyson Ross is "developing into an attractive trade chip" for the Padres following a strong start to the 2018 season.

The Padres signed Ross to a minor league contract in December, and he's rediscovered his promising form following shaky showings in 2016 and 2017.
Through nine starts this season, Ross is 3-3 with a 3.35 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 55 strikeouts and 22 walks. The 33-year-old right-hander was especially electric April 20 when he struck out 10 batters and allowed a single hit over 7.2 innings in the Padres' 4-1 win against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Thanks to that resurgence and his $1.7 million expiring contract, it makes sense the Padres—who occupy the National League West cellar—would think about dangling Ross for a prospect or two in advance of the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline.
