Meek Mill Traveling to Boston for Game 2 of Celtics vs. 76ers
Rapper Meek Mill will reportedly be in attendance at TD Garden for Game 2 of the second-round playoff series between the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night.
A source told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio that Sixers co-owner Michael Rubin will bring Meek, who was released from prison last month, to Boston for the game.
Rubin also brought Meek to the team's Game 5 clinching victory over the Miami Heat in Round 1 on the same day he was released:
"Although I'm blessed to have the resources to fight this unjust situation, I understand that many people of color across the country don’t have that luxury and I plan to use my platform to shine a light on those issues," Mill said in a statement. "In the meantime, I plan to work closely with my legal team to overturn this unwarranted conviction and look forward to reuniting with my family and resuming my music career."
Mill received a two-to-four year prison sentence in November for a probation violation related to a 2008 conviction on seven counts, including four gun-related charges.
The case is currently under appeal.
