Lamar Jackson Motivated by Chips on Both Shoulders After 2018 NFL Draft Slide
Former Louisville Cardinals star Lamar Jackson had to wait more than three hours to hear his name called at the 2018 NFL draft Thursday night, but now that he has found a home with the Baltimore Ravens, he is ready to make the rest of the league pay for passing on him.
Thirty-one picks went by as he sat without being drafted. However, when it was time for the Philadelphia Eagles to go on the clock at No. 32, Baltimore swooped in with a trade to end the quarterback's slide with the last pick of the night.
As if the 2016 Heisman Trophy winner's skill set weren't intriguing enough, the Ravens are also getting an extremely motivated player:
Jackson may start his Baltimore career as a backup to Super Bowl XLVII MVP Joe Flacco, but he plans on rewarding the franchise for giving him a shot, as The Checkdown relayed:
Yeah, he's ready to go:
Aaron Rodgers, who slid all the way to No. 24 in the 2005 draft, is a notable example of a player who has performed with a chip on his shoulder. Jackson hopes to follow in the Green Bay Packers star's footsteps.
