Glen Davis Named as Suspect in Assault Case
April 21, 2018
Former NBA power forward Glen "Big Baby" Davis was formally named as a suspect in connection with an April 8 altercation at a West Hollywood nightclub.
On Saturday, TMZ Sports reported police spoke with "several witnesses" who said Davis was the aggressor in an incident with another man, who spent a day on a ventilator after suffering "multiple broken bones and a broken tooth." The report notes the district attorney is seeking felony charges.
Witnesses told investigators the victim tried to confront Davis after being struck while the former NBA player was "driving erratically" in a parking lot, per TMZ Sports. The situation then allegedly turned violent as the man was thrown to the ground before Davis left the scene.
Davis has not publicly commented on the situation.
The 32-year-old Louisiana native was previously arrested at a Maryland hotel in February on charges that included seven counts of drug possession and distribution.
Davis spent eight seasons in the NBA with the Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Clippers. He last played in 2014-15.
