Justise Winslow, Joel Embiid Respond to Late-Game Layups in 76ers vs Heat Series
Following the Philadelphia 76ers' 128-108 win Thursday in Game 3 of their first-round playoff series with the Miami Heat, Sixers center Joel Embiid and Heat forward Justise Winslow addressed the recent late-game controversy.
In the closing seconds of Miami's 113-103 win in Game 2, Heat guard Goran Dragic converted a layup. According to ESPN.com's Ian Begley, Embiid said Thursday that it didn't sit well with him: "I wish I was there in that Game 2, because I was kind of pissed about it. ... I was on the sideline, really mad."
Dario Saric seemingly sought payback in Game 3 when he went for a layup in the final seconds with Philly leading by 19, however, he was blocked by Heat center Kelly Olynyk.
With regard to Saric's attempt, Winslow said, "I think they felt disrespected by Goran's [layup], and we weren't just going to let them do that."
