Isaiah Thomas Calls Kyrie Irving Injury 'Minor Setback' in Instagram Comment

Los Angeles Lakers guard Isaiah Thomas offered some words of encouragement to Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving regarding his knee injury on Thursday. 

According to Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe, on an Instagram post Irving made about his knee ailment Thomas commented, "Minor setback fam," with the hashtag "#ThatSLOWgrind."

In the Instagram post, Irving mentioned having an infection in his knee after undergoing surgery:

The Celtics announced Thursday that Irving will miss the remainder of the regular season and the playoffs.

Thomas was part of the offseason trade that sent Irving from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Celtics.

IT experienced a long rehabilitation process from a hip injury, and after struggling for the Cavs upon his return, he was dealt to the Lakers.

With Irving out, it could open the door for the top-seeded Toronto Raptors or the Cavs to make a run toward the NBA Finals.
