Final Four 2018 Schedule: Updated Bracket, Live-Stream Info and More

David McCrackenMar 30, 2018

The wait for the Final Four is almost over as the last four teams in the 2018 NCAA men's basketball tournament battle it out on Saturday for a spot in the national championship game.

While the turnaround from the Final Four to the title game on Monday is just two days, the wait for the national semifinals has been excruciating—not just for the players and coaches involved, but also for the fans.

In what's been one of the more memorable tournaments in recent years in terms of history-making performances, it's safe to expect the unexpected even at this stage of the competition.

Final Four Predictions

No. 3 Michigan vs. No. 11 Loyola-Chicago

It's hard for some pundits to pick against Loyola-Chicago and Sister Jean, but the buck stops here.

The Wolverines are simply a better basketball team than the Ramblers at this point of the season and will be the best defensive team that Loyola-Chicago will have faced this tournament.

To be fair, the Ramblers will also be the best shooting team Michigan will have faced over the course of the past two weeks, but defense—particularly strong perimeter defense—will be the X-Factor in this game.

The Ramblers are just the fourth double-digit seed to make the Final Four and are looking to become the first such seed to make the national championship game.

They've taken down some tough teams like Kansas State, Nevada, Tennessee and Miami, but one could say that their road to the Final Four was one of the more easier routes since No. 1 Virginia, No. 2 Cincinnati and No. 4 Arizona were each sent packing before the Sweet 16.

Michigan, which is fourth in efficiency nationally, per KenPom.com, will silence the Ramblers' hot shooting from deep en route to a berth in the national championship game.

Prediction: Michigan 62-48 Loyola-Chicago

No. 1 Villanova vs. No. 1 Kansas

Two No. 1 seeds in the Final Four, playing each other on one side of the bracket? Where's the fun in that?

While No. 1 seeds Villanova and Kansas avoided the madness of March over the past couple of weeks, the time has come where one of the trendy picks to win it all will go down.

At this point of the tournament, teams that play consistent and stay disciplined advance, unless you're a team of destiny like the aforementioned Ramblers.

But the Jayhawks have not played at their best this tournament, while the Wildcats have been the most impressive team this month by a long shot.

Villanova and Kansas battled it out in the Elite Eight back in 2016, when the Jayhawks were the heavily favored side to advance to the Final Four, but Villanova's defense proved too much for Bill Self's squad.

So why should we expect anything different this time around when Kansas, which can be hot-and-cold on offense, can't get consistent production on either end of the floor?

The Wildcats have won each of their tournament games by an average of 18.3 points, and they have two of the best players in the tournament in Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges, who can cause any team fits—let alone a Kansas defense that ranks outside the top 20 nationally in defense.

Villanova's offense and defensive discipline will prove too much for the Jayhawks, and for the second time in three seasons, the Wildcats will find themselves back in the title game.

Prediction: Villanova 73-62 Kansas
