Oklahoma City Thunder vs. San Antonio Spurs Odds, Analysis, NBA Betting Pick

OddsShark.comMar 29, 2018

The San Antonio Spurs (43-32) will try to end a two-game skid and pull even with the Oklahoma City Thunder (44-31) in the Western Conference standings Thursday, when the teams clash at AT&T Center.

The Spurs are hoping to have leading scorer and rebounder LaMarcus Aldridge (bruised knee) available, as he is listed as questionable on the injury report.

NBA point spread: The Thunder opened as 1.5-point favorites; the total is at 204, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark. Line updates and matchup report.

Why the Thunder Can Cover the Spread

Unlike San Antonio, Oklahoma City is a relatively healthy team and still looking to catch the Portland Trail Blazers for the Northwest Division title and No. 3 seed in the West. The Thunder have rolled to wins in seven of their past nine games, with the two losses during that stretch decided by a combined four points.

Before dropping two of three, they had put together a six-game winning streak, going 5-1 against the spread, according to the OddsShark NBA Database.

Why the Spurs Can Cover the Spread

The Spurs are obviously a much different team without Aldridge, who suffered the injury in a 116-106 road loss to the Washington Wizards on Tuesday. He had 13 points and four rebounds in 18 minutes before leaving the game, and San Antonio led 24-21 after the first quarter.

Fortunately, they are playing at home, where they remain one of the best teams in the league, going 29-8 SU and 22-13-1 ATS. In the most recent meeting with OKC at AT&T Center, San Antonio beat Oklahoma City 104-101 as a 1.5-point home underdog on November 17, rallying from a 23-point deficit to pull off the upset victory.

Smart Betting Pick

Make sure to check Aldridge's status before making a wager on this matchup. He had 26 points and nine rebounds the last time the Spurs hosted the Thunder, and his presence inside (or lack thereof) could be a big factor.

Regardless, Oklahoma City is playing only slightly better than San Antonio even though both teams recently won six in a row. But the under has cashed in the past three games for the Thunder and eight of the past 12 for the Spurs, so consider that play instead.

NBA Betting Trends

The total has gone under in six of Oklahoma City's past nine games.

Oklahoma City is 2-4 ATS in its past six games against San Antonio.

San Antonio is 6-2 ATS in its past eight games.
