South Carolina 79, Buffalo 63
Buffalo reached the Sweet 16 with impressive upsets of South Florida and Florida State by a combined 44 points. The Bulls couldn't contain the size and talent of South Carolina, however. A'ja Wilson led the way for the Gamecocks once again with 20 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks.
Alexis Jennings added 20 points and nine boards for South Carolina, which won the rebounding battle 48-21, including 16 offensive boards. The SEC postseason champs attempted just five three-pointers in the contest as they seemingly got any look they wanted on the interior en route to 50.8 percent shooting.
Cierra Dillard was outstanding for UB in the loss. The junior guard tallied 29 points, six assists, six steals and three rebounds. She didn't get nearly enough help as nobody else on the Bulls reached double figures in scoring, and they shot 35.3 percent from the field as a team.
Camdyn Ames of the Upstate Sports Zone showcased the Buffalo players thanking fans at the conclusion of their memorable run:
Meanwhile, South Carolina will likely spend its off day focused on how to limit turnovers after giving the ball up 26 times in Saturday's win.
Connecticut 72, Duke 59
Duke outscored UConn by seven in the second half, but it wasn't enough to overcame a 20-point halftime deficit against the dominant Huskies.
Napheesa Collier posted a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds for Connecticut. Gabby Williams was all over the floor en route to 15 points, seven boards, six assists, two steals and two blocks to help clinch the team's 13th straight Elite Eight appearance.
Leaonna Odom put up 22 points, eight rebounds and four dimes for the Blue Devils. They shot just 38.3 percent from the field, including 31.3 percent from three-point range, in the contest, though.
UConn's victory sets up a titanic Elite Eight clash with South Carolina on Monday.
Notre Dame 90, Texas A&M 84
Notre Dame rallied after trailing by seven following the first quarter to ensure all four of the tournament's No. 1 seeds reached the Elite Eight.
The dynamic backcourt tandem of Marina Mabrey and Arike Ogunbowale combine to score 50 of the Fighting Irish's 90 points. Jessica Shepard added 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Jackie Young chipped in 17 points, eight boards and five assists.
Chennedy Carter and Anriel Howard matched Mabrey and Ogunbowale basket for basket throughout the game with 57 points of their own. A&M just didn't get quite enough secondary scoring to keep pace with the deeper Irish.
Notre Dame's victory clinched its second straight Elite Eight trip and the seventh time its reached that stage of March Madness in the past eight years.
Oregon 83, Central Michigan 69
Oregon became the final team to punch its ticket to the Elite Eight with a convincing victory to end Central Michigan's improbable run to the second weekend.
It was a night of two stars for the Ducks. Ruthy Hebard was a force down low to record 23 points, 14 rebounds and six blocks. Sabrina Ionescu took care of pretty much everything else, nearly securing a triple-double with 16 points, 10 assists and nine boards.
Tinara Moore (23 points and 14 rebounds) and Reyna Frost (10 points and 14 rebounds) both recorded double-doubles for the Chippewas, who finish the season with a program-record 30 wins.
Meanwhile, Oregon heads into its battle with Notre Dame having won its three tournament games by an average of 28.3 points.
