The Golden State Warriors (47-14) will try to extend their winning streak to four games and move to 2-0 on their three-game East Coast road trip Wednesday when they visit the Washington Wizards (36-25) as big favorites.

The Warriors are coming off a 125-111 rout of the New York Knicks on Monday, covering as 12.5-point favorites behind 26 points from Klay Thompson.

NBA betting pick, via OddsShark computer: 114.1-106.6, Warriors (NBA picks on every game)

Why the Warriors can cover the spread

Golden State actually trailed New York 64-63 at halftime before outscoring the home team 39-18 in the third quarter to take control of the game.

The Warriors saw three players score more than 20 points, including Thompson, Kevin Durant (22) and Stephen Curry (21). All five starters scored in double figures as well, along with key reserve David West (11 points).

The Warriors have gone 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games, according to the OddsShark NBA Database, after going 2-7 ATS in their previous nine.

Why the Wizards can cover the spread

The Wizards have won five of their last six games both straight up and ATS, the biggest being a 109-94 blowout victory against the Philadelphia 76ers as 1.5-point home favorites on Sunday.

Washington has also covered the spread in three of the past four meetings with Golden State despite losing three of them.

The Wizards did defeat the Warriors at home a year ago to the day, topping the defending NBA champions 112-108 as seven-point underdogs thanks to 25 points from Bradley Beal and 22 from Markieff Morris. It's worth noting that Durant injured his knee after 93 seconds and did not return.

Smart betting pick

Washington would seem to be a solid home underdog pick here if the team was not playing on back-to-back nights. Unfortunately for the Wizards, they have not performed well in this situation, going 1-3 SU and 0-4 ATS the last four times they have played the second game of a back-to-back.

Golden State will be the more rested team and should have no problem beating Washington by double digits to cover the spread at online betting sites.

NBA betting trends

Golden State is 5-2 ATS in its last seven games.

Golden State is 2-5 ATS in its last seven games on the road.

Washington is 3-7 ATS in its last 10 games at home.
