Kobe Bryant Talks Possible Cameo Appearance on 'How to Get Away with Murder'
Kobe Bryant fans are no longer able to watch him on the basketball court, but they may get to see him on ABC.
According to TMZ Sports, Bryant "essentially confirmed" he will have a cameo on the network's How to Get Away with Murder when he was at UCLA on Saturday night for the Annie Awards.
He was somewhat noncommittal but talked about how great the writers on the show are and "was way more direct than Viola Davis," per TMZ Sports. Davis joked about a potential Bryant appearance when she was asked.
Bryant has an established relationship with media beyond the basketball court. He founded Kobe Studios and his production Dear Basketball also received a 2018 Oscar nomination for best animated short.
The film chronicles his journey through basketball from childhood to becoming a Lakers legend and into retirement and is based on the poem he wrote for The Players' Tribune.
If How to Get Away with Murder does land an appearance from Bryant, it will have basketball royalty on the show.
He was a five-time champion, two-time Finals MVP, the 2007-08 league MVP, a two-time scoring champion and an 18-time All-Star.
